We like to keep the recruitment experience clear, effective, and straightforward. Here's what you can expect in the different stages of our selection process.

Candidates Pre-selection

After the job ad closing date, we start analyzing and selecting the most promising candidates. At this point, we may contact you to talk about the role and schedule an interview.

2.
Introductory Interviews

The interviews provide an excellent opportunity for a mutual introduction, allowing us to gain an understanding of the candidates’ aspirations, technical skills for the job, as well as to ascertain their personality in order to gauge how they would fit in with our team.

3.
Final Selection And Offer

If you’ve made it to this phase, you are among the front runners for the position. After reviewing the outcome of the various assessment stages, it’s time to make a choice and notify the selected candidate for the job.

4.
Onboarding

If you are the lucky one, your manager will explain to you in more detail what is expected of you, how the team works and everything you need to set you up for success from your first day at Stormind Games.

AI Programmer

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic AI Programmer to join a highly motivated team. 

As part of the job, you will work in Unreal Engine 4 to bring our AI to life and solve challenging problems with pragmatic solutions. 

If you've got the experience and skills required and enjoy working with a focused group of talented and passionate game devs, then this is the place for you!

Role and Responsibilities

As an AI Programmer at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Create realistic characters using both AI and animation techniques.
  • Work with designers and developers to devise an AI plan.
  • Write and maintain system and feature documentation.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 4.
  • Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
  • A good foundation of 3D math concepts and algorithms.
  • An aptitude for breaking down complex problems.
  • Experience in programming movement, navigation, and decision-making AI.
  • Experience with state machines and behavior trees.

Game Designer

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Game Designer to join a highly motivated team. 

As part of the job, you will have to communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams across the studio within the project's technical and scope restrictions.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Game Designer at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Designer and the Design Team to bring innovative ideas to all aspects of game design.
  • Design and implement areas of the game.
  • Actively participate and/or lead design-specific discussions regarding design reviews and design issues.
  • Conceptualize, design, script, direct and create game levels.
  • Create design documentation based on the direction of the Lead Designer.
  • Work closely with the GD & Tech team to ensure the relevance of layouts with existing systems.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Art team to design balanced, readable environments that serve the player experience.
  • Validate the playability of the mechanics and environment with Testers, Artists and Gameplay Programmers.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in level-building using Unreal Engine 4 level editing tools.
  • Experience in prototyping maps and gameplay mechanics using Unreal Engine 4.
  • Experience writing high-quality and thorough design documentation including diagrams and flow-chart creation.

Graphics Programmer

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Graphics Programmer to join a highly motivated team. 

As part of the job, you will interface between our engineering and art teams to achieve state-of-the-art visuals.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Graphics Programmer at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Develop and improve graphics technologies (rendering, lighting, shadows, shaders, post-processing) to help achieve state-of-the-art visuals.
  • Work closely with the rest of the programming team to assist in integrating graphics effects, optimize shaders and materials.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with HLSL, Cg, or similar languages.
  • Experience with multithreaded programming.
  • Knowledgeable of special FX techniques and the latest rendering algorithms.
  • Extensive knowledge of vertex, pixel, and compute shaders.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in profiling and optimization techniques.

Technical Animator

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Technical Animator to join a highly motivated team. 

As part of the job, you will be a primary point of contact for everything concerning our animation tools and technologies. You will be working closely with Software Engineers, Artists, and Animators to deliver outstanding visual results, meeting the Production Team's quality and schedule expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Technical Animator at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Work with all aspects of the animation export and implementation pipeline (for Maya and UE).
  • Create new animation tools and maintain our animation toolset.
  • Assist the engineering team with implementing animation-related tools and features.
  • Support the Animation and character teams in debugging tools or game-related issues.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Good understanding of Unreal’s runtime animation systems such as state-machines and animation blueprints.
  • Knowledge of procedural and adaptive animations.
  • A keen eye for proper form and deformation throughout wide ranges of movements.
  • Passion for games and game development.

Preferred skills

We consider the following skills and previous experiences as a plus:

  • Experience as an Animator.
  • Knowledge of Motion Builder.
  • Knowledge of lower-level programming languages.
  • Knowledge of Motion Matching.

Technical Artist

Role and Responsibilities

As a Technical Artist at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of material pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the other members of the technical team.
  • Profile performance and find solutions to art-related issues.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Good understanding of real-time rendering pipeline.
  • Technical knowledge of game production and art pipelines.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and blueprints.
  • An exceptional eye for detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to gather information from many different sources and formulate new solutions from that.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Ray Tracing.
  • Experience with multi-platform games development.

  • Generic experience with Technical Animation.

VFX Artist

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic VFX Artist to join a highly motivated team. 

As part of the job, you will work hand-in-hand with the Art Director to create incredible real-time rendered visual effects which meet the vision for the gameplay experience.

Role and Responsibilities

As a VFX Artist at Stormind Games, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Envision and create real-time visual effects that enhance gameplay and player immersion
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver visually impressive spells and abilities
  • Add life and color to the game world through atmospherics, weather, and environmental effects
  • Technical implementation, integration, troubleshooting, and tracking of the performance of visual effects in Unreal Engine.
  • Iterate on VFX assets based on feedback from the dev team.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Knowledge of the PBS and experience to work with the Unreal shader graph and mastery of material domain and blend mode.
  • Knowledge of Niagara and able to create custom scratch pads to fit all the requests.
  • Knowledge of blueprints and render target and know-how of where to use it.
  • Ability to create sprite sheets, vertex animation texture, vector field, and flow maps in Houdini or Maya.

Preferred skills

The following skills and experiences will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with creating Houdini Volume Texture and Niagara data interface.
  • Math skills are a big plus.
  • Fluid ninja VFX unreal tool.
